The first six years of Joomla have been illustrated in a new infographic created through the joint efforts of the Joomla Marketing team and Pawel Borowicz along with the CloudAccess.net team. The infographic is available for the Joomla community's public use.

In anticipation of the first ever Joomla! World Conference scheduled to take place in San Jose, California this November, the Joomla! Project has launched the official conference website for developers, designers and end-users of the popular CMS.

With this latest issue published, The Joomla! Community Magazine, or JCM, is celebrating its second birthday as a community publication for the Joomla world. Joomla.org states that, "there have been 503 articles published in 18 languages."

Packtpub.com has published a new Joomla! 2.5 Beginner's Guide aimed at helping new Joomla users secure, administrate, and fill their sites with content. The book is an update to the Joomla! 1.5 Beginner's Guide by Eric Tiggeler.

The first JoomlaDay in China was held recently at the German Centre in Shanghai, a multi-use space that acts as a conference center and shared office space housing companies such as eBay. Hagen Graf reports that for "this first event 110 delegates registered and 80+ attended."

JomSocial, after having "learnt that the social aspect of the internet that we have grown so accustomed to is craved by the workplace as well," has expanded their social networking expertise to include what they call, "a private secure Social Network for your office."

In a recent blog post by BitNami, a new IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service) offering was announced that has the potential to expand the Joomla user and developer base while making Joomla installations even quicker and easier than they currently are for some. The announcement states that, "In the very near future, we will be publishing two free images for Windows Azure, one focused on web development platforms and another with development environments."

The June edition of The Joomla! Community Magazine looks toward the summer's activities and events as well as providing some good insight and resources for businesses and developers.

The end of life for a piece of software can create many different emotions for users and developers, from distress and anger to happiness and a sense of relief. The transition from Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 2.5 has provided possibly all of those reactions and more; however, with Internet Explorer 6 and 7 there seems to be a stronger sense of the positive as support wanes and disappears for this browser's earlier versions.

The latest Joomla property to be released is called The Joomla! Events Site. This new website will be used to announce and report on Joomla events around the world. With this addition, the Joomla community will be able to more easily get information about Joomla!Day events, User Group meetings, conferences and more.
