Joomla! Project Informs Community with New Events Site
The latest Joomla property to be released is called The Joomla! Events Site. This new website will be used to announce and report on Joomla events around the world. With this addition, the Joomla community will be able to more easily get information about Joomla!Day events, User Group meetings, conferences and more.
According to the Joomla!Day Charter, "The aim of a Joomla!Day is to provide an opportunity for Joomla! users to meet and learn together." These days are held all over the world and usually last only one day. Usually centered around one major city, they can draw many important Joomla developers, trainers and enthusiasts throughout the community.
The new site will also feature the locations and times of local Joomla User Groups, or JUGs. These meetings are more local than Joomla!Days, and happen more often. Joomla.org points out that JUGs "are a great way to meet new people, get help with a project, or share your own knowledge with other Joomla users."
Major conferences will be featured on the new portal as well, giving the community a well rounded viewl of the local and global events in the Joomla world, including the JandBeyond conference May 18 through 20, and the Joomla! World Conference 2012 held in San Jose this November.
